what will I do if someone used my work and not give me credit

Hello, I realized that when kusing someone else's work that you are to give credit to that work so that it doden't look as though you are claiming the credit of that particular work. If someone were to steal my work, I would be very upset and it does happen in my own home with my husband and son. I can suggest something and ten minutes later one of them can suggest the same idea and all of a sudden it is the perfect thing to do. In the case of writting a paper, I would report it, or confront the person in hope of them giving me the credit that is due to me.
